The Secondary School of Gastronomy and Services is a vocational secondary school attended by 500 pupils aged 15-20 who are taught and trained by 40 teachers. Distance learning classes for adults are also available. The school offers 7 fields of study to choose from: Cosmetic Services and Make-up Artistry, Hotel Industry (both are 4-year study programmes with a high school diploma), Hairdresser, Chef-waiter, Confectioner, and Salesman (3-year programmes with a certificate of apprenticeship). The practical on the jof or off the job training accounts for 50% of teaching. The school is equipped with special classrooms for IT, modern gym, school canteen, confectionery workshop, hairdresser and beauty parlour. In addition to, there are 2 separate workplaces in Přerov where pupils are trained on the job: Bečva Restaurant and Hairdresser’s in Kozlovska Street.
